Hi. If anyone has an old Digitech GFX1, Twintube and it no longer sounds the same...it might just need the non-soldered chips reinserted into socket. Carefully prise every chip up then push back into position. All non-soldered chips are prone to Chip Creep over time. Definition below: " Chip creep refers to the problem of an integrated circuit (chip) working its way out of its socket over time. ... While chip creep was most common with older memory modules, it was also a problem with CPUs and other main chips that were inserted into sockets." Was almost ready to mothball my very dull sounding unit when I remembered old Atari (drop) fix. My unit now back to normal. Worth a shot before trying anything more drastic. Still has same Groove Tubes vacuum tubes* and original 4.5v memory battery. Amazing machine. *If Any one has replaced Vacuum tubes? What is the best replacement pair (matched?). Tubes inside are 12 AX7 - GT 7025 Cheers, Sandpiper.
